Introspection

I have never been much of a talker…not because I have nothing to say but because I often find it hard to say what I think or have the right words, for the right time. So while people associate conversations with words, I associate them with pictures. A pleasant conversation registers warm colors in my head, a tense one the cold spectrum. A peaceful scene, to me, appears in smooth lines; a discordant one in unruly squiggly lines.

I may not always be able to paint what I see or what I want to paint but the exercise of reflecting upon it is just as worthy of a sketch. 'Introspection' is a series of works that embody conversations I’ve had with myself, my mental notes of moments that have left their mark. I hope my paintings will succeed in having a conversation with you too.
